- Information about the “Faces of Parkinson’s” Project -
The first 27 “Faces" were photographed & block printed in 2022. They were featured in the PCLA’s Living Artistically with Parkinson's show at the Rebecca Molayem Gallery in October 2022. In 2023, I was invited to bring them to Spain and present them at the World Parkinson’s Conference in July. In November and December of 2023, they were displayed at the Los Angeles County Public Library, Altadena Main branch, as part of the local artists series showcase.
Many of the original block prints in the project were auctioned off to raise funds for PCLA or were gifts to the models.
I published them as a photobook in November of 2024, available through Blurb Books, which can be purchased at http://parkinsonsfaces.com/
In January of 2025, my home, all of the original Block prints still in my possession, and my studio, tools, and equipment were destroyed in the Eaton Fire.
In May of 2025, I announced plans for Volume II of the project, to be made, consisting of at least 54 new portraits to be collected in the coming year.
If you have a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease, I would like to make a portrait of you for this project! Please have a look at the faces in Volume I to understand what I am talking about here: https://www.travisrobinson.photo/Faces-of-Parkinsons
Please email me to let me know you’re interested in the project, and I’ll share the dates of some events in your area where I’ll be taking portraits.
Thanks for reading.
